Rizon is a leading provider of training across health and safety, plant and leadership. They work with a range of partners across industries including energy, construction, manufacturing and automotive to deliver training that bolsters not only employee safety and performance, but drives business growth.

Project duration: 2022 – Present

The Challenge

The story of Rizon is one of evolution and long-term growth.

Before Rizon existed, Due North Creatives had already been working closely with AquaTerra on general marketing requirements. As AquaTerra Training expanded through acquisition, bringing Bon Accord Training and IED Training Solutions into the group, Charlie and the wider leadership team recognised that a bigger strategic challenge had begun to emerge.

While each business had built strong reputations in their own right, it became increasingly clear that operating as separate brands no longer reflected the direction of the business or the scale of its ambition.

The group needed an identity that could unify the businesses internally, simplify the offering externally, and position the company as more than simply a provider of individual training courses.

This wasn’t just about creating a new name or logo. It was about shaping a brand that represented a long-term training partner, one focused on helping businesses drive change, improve performance, reduce risk and invest in their people through training, systems and strategy.

Our role was to help bring that evolution to life through brand development, messaging, website design and ongoing marketing support, creating a platform that reflected the credibility, ambition and future direction of the business.

Approach

We worked on this project since its inception, and our approach was broken down into three key stages:

  1. Brand Development: Creating a name and brand for the new business that continued to demonstrate the three founding companies’ expertise.
  1. Website: Developing a brand new, content rich website that’s easy to navigate and brings the entire business offering under one umbrella.
  1. Video & Event Support: Production of high-quality thought leadership pieces and client case studies that position Rizon as a reliable partner for growth-minded businesses, alongside support for Rizon as they visit and host industry events.

Brand

The Rizon brand needed to feel established, credible and forward-thinking while reflecting the scale and ambition of the evolving business.

The parent business’s logos

Working closely with the leadership team, we developed the name Rizon, inspired by the horizon and the idea of continual growth, progress and forward momentum. The name reflects the role the business plays helping organisations move forward through learning, development and operational improvement.

From a visual perspective, the identity needed to balance professionalism with energy and approachability. The deep green palette conveys trust, stability and expertise, while the orange accent introduces warmth and visibility while subtly reflecting the high risk environments and industries Rizon works within every day, as well as the sun rising above the horizon.

For Charlie, the process was about more than marketing. Each of the original businesses had been built over many years, with strong relationships, reputations and emotional attachment tied to the existing identities. Bringing them together under one brand required careful collaboration, trust and a shared belief in where the business could go next.

Throughout the process, our role was not only to develop a new identity, but to help create alignment and confidence around what the future of the business could become.

To further clarify the business offering, the supporting brand statement Strategy | Systems. | Training was incorporated into the identity, succinctly communicating the breadth of support Rizon provides beyond individual training courses alone.

This final identity has now created a strong foundation for the group moving forward, one that feels cohesive and recognisable. We have continued to support them with graphic design work including social media assets, banners, brochures and email assets.

On the new identity, Managing Director Charlie Cameron said: “Rizon represents where we’re heading as a business. We wanted something that brought the whole team together under one clear vision while still respecting the legacy and expertise that already existed across the group.”

Website

With its new name and brand in place, Rizon needed a new website – but with three parent businesses and more than 100 courses on offer, this was no easy feat.

Each of the parent companies had a website, but they were of varying degrees of quality. Some contained all of the right information, but poor formatting and an offputting user experience, while another was partially-complete and filled with dead links.

Working closely with Charlie, Caryn and the wider Rizon team, we mapped how prospective customers might navigate the training offering and simplified the experience around real client needs rather than internal business structures.

When developing the new website, we put the customer at the heart, making it easy for a prospective client to navigate around the website, find out all of the necessary information about a training course, and book into it when the time was right.

In addition, we had to make it just as simple for the Rizon team to update the website as their offering evolves.

Through close collaboration with their team  and a systematic approach we developed a website that:

  • Brings together all of Rizon’s training courses under one banner, with intuitive search and categorisation to ensure users can easily find what they’re looking for
  • Clearly communicates Rizon’s story, mission and expertise in training to current and prospective clients
  • Is easy for the Rizon team to keep up to date as their training offering grows, with no website expertise or coding required
  • Features a range of client case studies and testimonials to build trust with prospective clients and demonstrate the partnerships that Rizon has with well-known businesses throughout Scotland

Website Results

The new website continues to  establish a stronger and more unified digital presence for Rizon, supporting both brand awareness and lead generation across Scotland.

Since its October 2025 launch, results as of the 22nd May 2026 have included:

  • Nearly 10,000 users visiting the website since launch
  • Strong organic search performance, helping prospective clients discover Rizon through relevant training and industry searches
  • An engagement rate of over 65% from organic users, demonstrating strong user interaction and content relevance
  • More than one minute average engagement time from organic visitors, highlighting improved user experience and content quality
  • Over 130 direct enquiry form submissions generated through the website
  • A scalable platform that allows the Rizon team to continuously evolve and expand their training offering internally

Video & Event Support

Once the website went live and Rizon was revealed to the world, the next stage was to build awareness and trust around the new brand. Rizon’s team has a wealth of expertise, and an incredible list of client partnerships, and our aim was now to demonstrate this through a series of high-quality scripted and non-scripted videos.

Risk Video Series

A woman with glasses and a black polka dot dress stands in an industrial setting. Text on screen reads Carol Gray, Business Support Director and is one of the biggest causes of serious workplace injuries.

Although well known for their training offering across topics like Working at Height and Plant, Rizon’s leadership and strategy training was underrepresented in their marketing. Our aim was to capture content that would show how training reduces risk for businesses across a wide variety of industries, while spotlighting Rizon’s capabilities beyond health and safety.

Following a film day at Rizon’s headquarters in Kintore, we delivered a series of professional-quality, edited, captioned and branded videos that were used to position Rizon as leaders in training and risk reduction. Alongside this we captured a wealth of b-roll footage of Rizon’s trainers at work that can be re-used and re-edited for years to come.

Client Case Studies

Rizon works with some brilliant partners, and highlighting these partnerships is key to building authority and trust. In addition, as an Aberdeenshire-based business, it was crucial to highlight their partnerships in other areas of Scotland to build geographical awareness.

It was with this in mind that we visited Dundee to film content with MVV Baldovie, an energy from waste plant, and John Clark Motor Group, an automotive dealer and Scotland’s third largest family business.

The resulting videos feature representatives from MVV and John Clark Motor Group not only speaking about the importance of training, but speaking highly of their ongoing partnerships with Rizon. These videos position Rizon as leaders in their field, and demonstrate how they can support some of Scotland’s biggest and most well known businesses with tailored, impactful training that boosts growth. They also expand Rizon’s marketing reach beyond Aberdeen and the Shire, showing that they’ll partner with businesses in Dundee and right across Scotland to upskill, empower and grow their people.

Events

With partnerships at the heart of Rizon, their team often attends and hosts events to bring together their community, show off their training capabilities and deepen their relationships.

We supported Rizon at Safety Expo as they introduced their new training group and unveiled their brand identity at an event for the first time. Our team developed marketing materials and captured video content throughout the event, documenting their presence while helping to build awareness and establish visibility.

Alongside this, we partnered with Rizon to deliver High Stakes – a business breakfast and expo hosted at their headquarters in Kintore. From developing the event name and visual identity to creating a range of digital assets, we helped shape a cohesive campaign designed to drive awareness and engagement ahead of the event. On the day, we provided live social media support, producing stories and capturing content that was later transformed into engaging reels, successfully showcasing the energy of the event and the connections made throughout the morning.

Results

Before Rizon, the group consisted of multiple businesses operating independently, each with their own processes, identities and ways of communicating. While each company had built credibility in its own right, the structure created complexity both internally and externally.

This project marked a significant shift, creating a shared identity, clearer direction and a stronger platform for growth moving forward.

Importantly, this wasn’t simply a rebrand. Many of the original business owners and leadership team remain actively involved within the organisation, meaning there was a natural emotional connection to the legacy brands they had spent years building. Bringing those businesses together under one identity required trust, collaboration and a willingness to evolve.

The Rizon brand has helped create a stronger sense of alignment across the wider group, supporting the ongoing transition from separate businesses into one connected team with a shared vision for the future. While that journey continues internally, the new identity has already created greater consistency, confidence and clarity both for employees and customers alike.

Rizon’s Business Development Manager, Caryn Gibson, commented on our partnership: “We’ve had the pleasure of working with the DNC team for a number of years now and they’ve become a real extension of our business. From managing our social media and supporting our events to leading a complete rebrand and the launch of our new website, they’ve been with us every step of the way.

As a service-based business, it can often be difficult to visually communicate what we do and the impact we have and the team at DNC really understands that challenge and has helped us tell our story in a way that’s engaging, authentic and true to who we are. We’ve invested heavily in video content, and their creativity and expertise have been invaluable in bringing our people, our training and our values to life.

On top of that, they’re simply great fun to work with. They have a real talent for putting everyone at ease in front of the camera, turning what could be a nerve-wracking experience into something enjoyable and somehow, they always manage to capture the best moments and turn them into great content.

They’re creative, professional, easy to work with and genuinely care about helping your business succeed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
